Childhood is a rich developmental age with many novel experiences. Learning to meet behavioral expectations at home or the classroom can be a struggle for children, parents, and teachers. New friendships are formed and transitions begin with grade level changes, the growth of a new family member, or adjusting to a loss. Communication is a key area of my work with children and learning how to express feelings and thoughts through healthy channels. Play and art therapy are techniques incorporated into our work as well as engaging in discussions, and if needed connecting with parents to provide new skills to help address the needs of their child.
